How to Make Custom Face Masks with POSCA Paint Markers
POSCA Paint Markers are not just for canvas and illustration. POSCA makes it easy to personalize everyday items, including clothing, soft furnishing and face masks. With growing mandates on wearing face masks, why not personalize your mask as a way to express yourself!
Materials
Face Mask (We used white ones, but you should be able to used any color of masks.)
POSCA Paint Markers (We used the 5M bullet size, but you can use any size. The bullet ones tend to clump a bit on the cotton mask, so liners might be a nice choice.)
Iron
Preparation
Before working on your mask, you will need to wash it, to remove any industrial coating or dirt. Also place a paper below your surface, since POSCA will always be heavily absorbed by the fabric.
Then draw whatever you like using an array of POSCA paint markers. Remember they come in a variety of sizes.
You may have to apply more than one coat, especially if you are drawing on a dark fabric.
Fixation
Once your creation is finished and dry, you can iron the reverse side, without using steam. You can place parchment or other grease-proof paper between the iron and the mask for extra protection.
