Are the most accurate indicators of actual firing temperatures. Usually three cones are selected and set in a clay pot or cone holder at an 82° angle -- one to deform at the recommended firing temperature of the clay or glaze, one to deform at lower temperature as a warning signal and one higher. Junior cone size is 1-1/8" high.
